Norogachi - Matachines
On December 24th and 25th, we documented for the first time matachín Dances in Norogachi, Chihuahua, Mexico. We have documented Matachines there several times. Rarámuri dances are nighttime dances except for special occasions. They dance all night on the eve of a feast day, then at dawn there is a procession to the church and a dance in the church. Afterwards they feast and drink. The first two are from that first documentation; the rest are from the eve of the Virgin of Guadalupe Feast Day and the morning of the feast day in 2005.
