Basíhuare - Fariseos

In the spring of 1998, we documented the Fariseos Dances during Holy Week in Basíhuare in the Sierra Tarahumara. It was our first documentation. Since then an influx of Protestant Evangelicals from the United States has converted most of the villagers to the Evangelical Faith. The Holy Week dances are no longer performed in this village.
